August Lucky Times, Under the Sea Event, and Bingo Card 8 Coming up!

The moment that we've been waiting for has finally come!

We're going to have the Under the Sea event in August!

And you know what this means...Romance Ariel and King Triton are here! I suspect it will arrive on Monday, August 1st, so save up your coins because you're going to need these two to help you with the Under the Sea event happening around next Friday (I'm guessing here).

The Under the Sea event looks to be similar to Star Wars Part I event in that if you use Romance Ariel or King Triton, you will be able to get character bonuses that will help you complete the cards. There are rumored to be 5 cards, with a bonus card that is created to be extra difficult. The translations were shared earlier by some fans here:  The Little Mermaid Event translations.

For each card you complete, you will get Scuttle. After completing the 5 event cards, you will max out Scuttle at Skill 3 and a silver Little Mermaid pin. According to Seiji's video, Scuttle will clear a curved horizontal line of tsums. Although it doesn't look like it takes out much, you can activate his skill quite quickly - you only need to clear 12 Scuttles to activate his skill.

For those who manage to complete the Bonus Card, you would get the Gold Little Mermaid pin as well!!

So save up those coins and hearts for the upcoming Lucky Time on August 1st for Romance Ariel and King Triton, and prepare for the Under the Sea event coming up soon!

Happy Tsuming!!

Update: July 27, 2016

Tidbit: Make sure you get Triton for the upcoming Under the Sea event. Why? Because he clears 3 vertical lines of tsums and because the event will require you to burst a treasure chest before you get the bubbles containing coins and tickets. And trust me, you would like to have a tsum that will easily burst the gift bubbles. Check this out: The Key to Magical Chests. The gift bubbles covers most of the screen, just like regular Alice...

With Triton, you just need to activate his skill 1x per prize item (e.g. treasure chest, gift bubbles) and thus you can get more treasures per game. With a tsum other than Romance Ariel and King Triton, it sounds like you need to hit the bubble 3x before you get the prize inside which doesn't allow you to attain many gifts.

Save yourself time and get more prizes by getting Triton when he comes out on Monday at the very least. Since it's just 3 vertical lines, I'd assume even Skill 1 Triton will be helpful.

Happy Tsuming!!

Update: August 1 & 3 & 6 & 11 & 13, 2016

There has been a recent leak or discovery regarding a few more events coming our way. There hasn't been any discovery of when these events will occur yet but so far we know the following:

  • Another lucky time after the current one for Romance Ariel and King Triton is coming our way for specifically Rapunzel, Maleficent, and Angel.

UPDATE: AUG 13 - Lucky Time for Rapunzel, Maleficent and Angel coming up on Aug 25th to Aug 28th!

  • There will be a Pickup Capsule event involving at least Baymax, Ariel, Hawaiian Stitch and Angel later this month as well.

UPDATE: AUG 3 - leak shows that the Pickup Capsule will come around August 19! These will include Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, Baymax, Scrump, Hawaiian Stitch (though he looks like regular stitch in the picture but in the banner it is Hawaiian Stitch), and Angel. All of which will either help you finish the Bonus Under the Sea event card to get you the Gold Little Mermaid Event Pin, and/or help you complete Bingo Card #8!

  • And after almost a year of waiting, we're going to get Bingo Card 8!! Date TBD for now but I suspect it will happen after the Little Mermaid event, so this bingo card may be made available to us starting on Aug 25th.

There are instructions as well for the upcoming Under the Sea event as part of the leak!!

Tidbit: Confirmation from the recent leak that Yes, only Romance Ariel and King Triton will give you character bonuses and thus help you complete each mission. Use King Triton!

  • UPDATE: AUG 6 - It is said that there will be another Lucky Time for Romance Ariel and King Triton on August 12th to 15th

PLUS, according to the map, there are Treasure Chest Missions and Shell Missions. For the Treasure Chest Missions, those are the ones as described earlier regarding needing to hit the treasure chest first before coins and tickets bubbles come down the screen for you to burst and collect.

Tidbit: Besides getting the treasure chest missions easier, you will get bonuses for using Romance Ariel and King Triton on the Shell Missions!

Tidbit: For Tsum Tsum Mission Bingos, there is a wonderful site called Tsum Tsum Central that has a lot of helpful hints for all the bingo missions we've had so far (and more!) so I highly recommend checking out their website if you are stuck on any particular Bingo Mission.

Luckily for us, they have Bingo Mission 8 all figured out! On their site, it showcases which tsum to use to help you complete each of the missions which helps tremendously because you can see which tsum will help you clear more than one mission at a time. It looks like for Bingo Mission 8, the missions are all "in total" missions, meaning it looks like none of the missions are for completing "in one play". This means that you will need to play quite a few rounds (at least 100 games since that is needed before Mission 12 can be cleared) before you can complete the entire Bingo card which ultimately helps you build up your coin buffer for the upcoming lucky times in September! If not for September, at least for the last lucky time for Romance Ariel and King Triton at the end of August. (Note: Romance Ariel is a limited time tsum only available until August 31st. Did you get her yet?)

UPDATE: AUG 3 - there is a rumour that 2 new bonuses may be coming to our daily game play:

  • Range Bonus which increases tsums connection range
  • Lucky Bonus which a lucky capsule will appear
Not sure what these bonuses mean because I wasn't able to find a video about these new bonuses. It was also noted in Reddit that we may not see these either. I guess we'll have to wait and find out.

Having said all this, I have a hunch, and again this is only a speculation, that Genie and the Aladdin event will be coming in September. My speculation is only based on the fact that we're finally getting the Under the Sea event which came out for the Japanese version of the game last August! So, since we now have the Pin section translated, and we're now getting the events that have eluded us because of the Pins not being translated before, it'd make sense if we get the Aladdin event in September, which did happen last year in September for the Japanese version of Tsum Tsum. Anyways, as you probably notice...I really want Genie!! =D

Good luck with the Missions, Lucky Times, and Pickup Capsule!!

Happy Tsuming!!

How to Create Different Types of Bubbles During the Game

Thought this is a neat tidbit for how to create the different bubbles during game play so you can complete some of those missions:

  • 7 to 13 chain creates a normal bubble
  • 9 to 16 chain creates a time bubble (+2 seconds)
  • 11 to 18 chain creates a star/experience bubble (+10 exp)
  • 13 to 20 chain creates a coin bubble (+10 coins)
  • 15 to 21 chain creates a score bubble (bubble score x2)

Note: in the Japanese version, bubbles are known as bombs.

Happy Tsuming! =)

Tsum Tsum 2nd Anniversary Cupcake event!

Happy 2nd Anniversary Tsum Tsum!!

From now until Tuesday, July 26th @ 11:59PM, you'll get to celebrate with Tsum Tsum on this milestone by creating 9 different cupcakes!

Each cupcake has a different character theme that you gather 7 ingredients for. How? Through the cake hearts given to you at random! However, this time in this event, they've thrown in Chance Time! The capsules obtained through the Cake hearts can also give you coins or ticket items.

Tidbit: Make sure you're available during the 3 specified Chance Times to play:
  • 1st Chance Time: 7AM to 8AM
  • 2nd Chance Time: 6PM to 7PM
  • 3rd Chance Time: 10PM to 11PM
During Chance Time, your chance to get a cake heart doubles (2x)! So these are the most opportune times to rake in the cake ingredients. I tried during and out of Chance Times and the amount of cake hearts I got outside these special timeslots were quite far and few in-between, about 1 cake heart for every 3 to 5 hearts, versus during Chance Time, I can easily have 5 cake hearts in my meter.

Tidbit: If you have a large heart buffer, during non-peak time, you can escape the regular hearts to move onto the cake hearts quicker. As you can see, I had a pretty large heart buffer so during non-Chance Time, I would go into the game, hit the Pause button, and hit Try Again to escape the game and move onto the next heart faster until I get to a cake heart to collect the capsule.

Of course, not everyone has a large heart buffer so your best bet is to utilize the Chance Times as best as you can. I was able to finish 2 cupcakes per Chance Time, thus why I was able to finish the event within the same day. =) So it's quite doable and you'll find yourself having much more fun with the cake hearts than the regular hearts.

Tidbit: Use one of the 3 recent princess tsums we received through Lucky Time: Princess Aurora, Snow White, and the limited edition Bride Rapunzel!! With one of these three princesses, you will only need to hit the capsule 1x to clear it. For me, I used Bride Rapunzel because its ability sweeps a wider range across the screen and thus guaranteeing you'd hit the capsule when you activate her ability. Skill 1 is all you need for Bride Rapunzel and it will still work!

Each cupcake recipe card looks like a variation of this:

Notice the prize is stated at the bottom of the card, with the 7 different ingredients showing around the center. The ingredients actually do arrive in the order stated in the card, so the cup, the baked part of the muffin, followed by the icing and toppings.

One of my favorite features of this event was the Capsule bar at the top of the game. It clearly told me when I can expect a capsule in the game, on the off chance that I had forgotten which type of heart game I had started, and believe me, it has happened to me before at the beginning of the game!

And once I clear the capsule, it showcases a change in color in the banner, letting me know that I had managed to get the capsule from the game. It's a really helpful feature that lets me understand when time is nearing the end and I should really get ready for the capsule to drop in the last 10 seconds (as it has done in previous events before)! Once, I even forgot or didn't realize I had got the capsule. I kept waiting for it to drop but it didn't and after 45 seconds into the game, I realized I had cleared it without knowing. Hopefully they'll continue to keep this feature for future events!

The order of cupcake appearances and their prizes are:
  1. Pluto Cupcake - prize: 10 hearts
  2. Chip 'n' Dale Cupcake - prize: 5 rubies
  3. Sully Cupcake - prize: 1 Premium Box Ticket
  4. Donald Cupcake - prize: 1 Skill Ticket
  5. Cheshire Cat Cupcake - prize: 15,000 coins
  6. Minnie Cupcake - prize: 1 Skill Ticket
  7. Marie Cupcake - prize: 1 Marie Tsum Tsum
(Update: if you have a max skill Marie, you will get a skill ticket instead!)
  8. Pooh Cupcake - prize: 1 Skill Ticket
  9. Mickey Cupcake - prize: 2nd Anniversary Pin!

Have fun everyone and good luck!!

Happy Tsuming!! =)
