Star Wars event - Part 1 - tidbits

As many of the international players know, the Star Wars event - Part 1 came out just this past Wednesday! Boy, did I not sleep much in the last few days. I did finish it and have a few tidbits of what you can think about while you're playing the game (they're in random order).

In the past few months, I didn't have a lot of time to play the game nor for many of my usual activities. So my buffer of coins and hearts repertoire are both quite limited. At the same time, Darth Vader came out (Lucky Time ends tonight) along with the Start Wars - Part 1 event, so I wanted to get enough coins to try and get him. I was lucky enough to have gotten R2D2, Luke Skywalker, and Yoda in the week before. I had to try very hard to try and accumulate some coins to try and get these three tsums though.

At the beginning of the Star Wars event, I kept blowing past the first 10 events with no problems - I didn't need to use the bonuses and was able to keep clearing the missions. At one point after the first 15 though, the missions got harder and harder, so I had to use bonuses more frequently, and many times I had to try a second or third time to clear the missions. This wasn't going well as I was trying to save up some coins to try and get Darth Vader.

Then I came to a mission that asked me to clear 1500 tsums in one play. I tried with bonuses with Jasmine (she's my strongest tsum at Skill 3 and maxed level 50), but I only managed to clear around 750 tsums in that game which is pathetic since that's only half the requirement. I tried again to clear the mission. I figured maybe Pinocchio would be better since he clears 2 types of tsums when his skill is activated. I tried again, again with bonuses, and nope, to my demise, I was only able to clear around 780 tsums in that game. I knew I wasn't faster with any of the other tsums so I quit the mission. I didn't know what would happen but I had to quit because I would use all my resources if I kept persisting. I didn't want to quit though because there were 99 points on the line and it'd definitely help me get closer to completing the card!

Have you noticed that as you progressed from mission to mission, your points in the upcoming steps increased? At one point, your points will increase to beyond 50 points which will help you get towards the 2000 points goal for completing the card. When you quit, the point levels in the upcoming steps go back to basic, having 3 points in one step, to 12 on another, etc., just like when you had started at the beginning. Don't be too disappointed. Just keep going!

Tidbit 1: when faced with having a mission too difficult and one that takes too many resources away from you, it is ok to quit the mission and have the points go down. Why? Because you can now use your strongest tsum and accumulate the coins you need for future uses PLUS you are still going towards your goal of accumulating enough coins to reach the 2000 points needed to complete the card.

I used Belle who is my most coin-giving tsum at Skill 4 (she clears about 30 each time I use her skill) for the first 10 to 15 missions. Each time I used her, I got more coins, and each of the missions become quite basic and easy to beat. Each time I beat a mission, my consecutive steps that I could land on increases in their points. In this method you may use more hearts to complete the card, but who are you kidding, if you can't beat the difficult mission on your first try, you'll need to use more hearts and coins anyways. Save your hearts, especially if you don't have many of them and just quit the mission and keep going. If you have tons of hearts and coins, by all means, go all out and keep going and trying to finish the missions without having to quit. =)

Side note: If you think about it, my wanting to keep going is a deterrent to the goal of finishing the card anyways and getting my coins I want to try for Darth Vader.

Tidbit 2: use your strongest coin-giving tsum when you are at the basic or easy missions. This gives you the biggest ROI!

Tidbit 3: if you have Jasmine skilled up, use her or even Birthday Anna against the Stormtroopers as you can hit more of them after activating their skills during the game. The biggest advantage here is that you can activate their skills quite quickly - Jasmine only needs 13 and Birthday Anna allows you to have mini bombs everywhere around the screen.

Tidbit 4: When faced with a mission just out of your scope, for example you need to clear 500 tsums in one play but you can only clear 400, use one of the Star Wars tsums first before you quit the mission.

Please note: Only Darth Vader, R2D2, Yoda and Luke Skywalker give you character bonuses!

What happens is that say for example if you use R2D2 (because he's so awesome!) and you only manage to clear 350 in that one play, the game will give you character bonuses. What these character bonuses do is they add on top of what you achieved in the mission to either help you clear the mission or get you closer to what the mission asks for, whether it is coins attained, cleared tsums, experiences attained, bubbles cleared, etc.

So back to our example, if you used R2D2 to try and clear 500 tsums, but you managed only to clear 350 tsums, the character bonus displayed in the mission screen may display 176, in which case you would have "cleared" 350 + 176 = 526 tsums in that game and thus would have passed the mission! So remember, please try using the Star Wars tsums listed above to try and clear the mission and thus attain your points before giving up and quitting the mission. It'd be worth it!

After each card completed, you get C3PO!

You do get him 3x by the time you complete all 3 cards in Part 1, so you end up skilling him up to Skill 3 upon completion of Star Wars event - Part 1.

Oh yeah! At specific points in each card, you get bonuses. So this picture was taken at Card 3:

As you notice, at each point level that you attain, you get a new prize. Heads up! In Card 3 alone, when you reach 1100 points, you get a Skill Ticket!!!

As you can see, in Card 3, when you reach 1700 points, you can get C3PO already (to skill him up to Skill 3), whereas in Cards 1 and 2, you had to reach 2000 points before you get C3PO.

Here in Card 3, you will notice that you get a special Pin at 2000 points (and completion of Card 3)!

You get the rebel alliance pin!! It feels good to display this pin I have to say. Feels like completion. =)

Happy tsuming and may the force be with you!
