Secret way to use get a high combo score with Holiday Donald

I was watching my bestfriend play with Holiday Donald the other day and I saw a trick that she used to get a very high combo score with Holiday Donald: swiping the screen left and right after activating his skill! Try it while playing the game with sound on, and it's quite amusing with the music for Holiday Donald. I can't wait to get him next and to try it on my screen!

Happy Tsuming!

Also, by the way, there's a login bonus for this week of Christmas where you get 5 hearts each day just by logging into the game each 24 hours! Enjoy!

Second Christmas Ornament Card came out!

This past Thursday, the second Christmas Ornament Card came out! After spending 2 hours on it, I finished attaining all 10 ornaments required to get the second prize. When I finished, I was brought to this screen:

There were only two presents left! I tapped on the middle and I got what my fiance got in his first present which was 5000 coins, 10 hearts, and 10 rubies. My fiance on the other hand got Holiday Donald and Holiday Daisy. This further confirms that the three prizes I indicated in my earlier post is correct and that my third prize when the 3rd card comes out will be Holiday Donald and Holiday Daisy! =)

Hope you're all enjoying your prizes!

Cheers!

Bumblebee Pooh!

Bumblebee Pooh is back! He came out last year after I first started playing Tsum Tsum for a couple of months. I luckily did get him during the lucky time, on the last day of the lucky time. Phew!

Anyhow, his skill is quite powerful if you are quick enough. =) Skill 1 is pretty powerful already. In general, he's a great Tsum to use to get more coins. His ability is to stop time for at least 4 seconds, in which time all the chains that you link up (same tsums, so not like Repunzel) will become one massive chain when time is up.

For example, if you had Bumblebee Pooh, Anna, Piglet, Eeyore, and Mickey in your game. Once you are able to activate Bumblebee Pooh (skill is activated after clearing 15 Bumblebee Poohs), time freezes and all the tsums stop moving and falling. During this time, link up all the Annas together, the Piglets together, the Eeyores together, the Mickeys together and Bumblebee Poohs together. Although it may be 5 separate chains, when time is up and the game is back in motion, ALL Five chains become ONE giant chain in which case you can clear up to 37 tsums in one go. It's pretty powerful stuff. =)

Hint to helping you clear most of your screen: Make a bubble during your game play, and once you activate Bumblebee Pooh's skill, "pop" the bubble by tapping on it and it automatically clears a circumference around the bubble, leaving you with a smaller area left that needs to be cleared. This was how I manage to get 1300 coins in one round, without using bonuses. =)

Happy Tsuming! Good luck! This Lucky Time ends on Dec 16th at 11:59pm, at which point when midnight strikes and it's Dec 17th, the Second Christmas Ornament card comes out!! Exciting times! =)

Genie hasn't come out yet...

I was a bit disappointed to see that Genie didn't come out today as I had expected. But, it does mean I have more time to accumulate more coins so that I can open more boxes!! Woot!

Suspected 3 prizes for the Christmas Ornament Event

In my previous post, I had mentioned how my bestfriend got Holiday Donald and Daisy tsums after she completed her card, and how my fiance got hearts, rubies and coins. I also mentioned I got the skill and premium tsum tickets from my card. I suspect these are the 3 prizes you would get by the end of completing the 3rd card. The only reason I suspect this is because of this picture:

At the bottom of the event info, you see Holiday Donald, Holiday Daisy, Premium and Skill tickets, coins, hearts, and rubies. It seems to be an overlooked fact when the other blogs talks about this event. So thought to let you know. I'm not sure if I'm completely correct until we get the second card in about 7 days!! Excited!! =D

First Christmas Card Done

So I managed to finish getting all 10 ornaments via the Christmas event in the first Christmas card today. I tapped on the left most present since it looked the biggest, and I luckily got a Premium Tsum ticket AND a Skill ticket!!! I'm super stoked about this prize!

My bestfriend managed to get Holiday Donald AND Daisy in her selected prize! I didn't know they came together but apparently they did for her. My fiance on the other hand got ten rubies, 5 hearts and 5000 coins. Not bad I have to say, though having said this, I think getting my Premium Tsum ticket and Skill ticket is the best. Next time I hope to be able to get the Holiday Donald and Daisy present! We'll see. =)

Trick to Skilling Up Tsums You Want to Skill Up

I learned back in Beauty and the Beast lucky time is that I didn't have enough of a buffer. In fact until Beauty and the Beast came out, I had constantly purchased premium boxes and not having a buffer for when new tsums appeared in Lucky Time, at which point I'm mad scrambling to get them during that weekend it's available at a higher ratio.

What I learned after from my brother-in-law is that building a buffer of 300,000 coins would be great at increasing your chances to getting the new tsums that you want. So I began.

I accumulated and accumulated more and more coins as time went by and I was getting better at the game so I can rake in around 700 on a bad turn, or 1200+ coins when I'm on a roll.

From the last few times of Lucky Time, I noticed something. The trick to skilling up the tsums I wanted to skill up, the best chance is always during the Lucky Time since that's the only time you'll have a higher chance of getting the new tsum. Well, to do this, you really need a big buffer.

I recommend a buffer of 1.26 million coins, which will allow you to open 42 premium boxes!

How do I save up this amount? Well, I play a lot ...but the other thing is, if there's a lucky time going on with tsums that you don't feel a passion for, then leave it. Chances are you will get the tsums when you try for a tsum you really want.

For example, I bypassed the Lucky times when Hawaiian Stitch and Angel came out, and forego the Lucky time when Rex and Randall came out too. Why? Well, I was thinking in terms of the bingos and what type of missions may be on it. I already had Stitch so I don't have to have a Hawaiian Stitch nor Angel. I had Monsters Inc tsums (Mike and Sully both) so I didn't need Randall. I also had a bunch of Toy Story tsums so I didn't need to get Rex either. So I passed and used that time to keep accumulating coins.

When Cars came out, I really wanted Mater. I had previewed what his skill was like on YouTube and found that I really liked his skill so I tried with my 1.3 million coins at that time. I was super lucky during that time and I managed to skill Mater up to Skill 4!!! I also skilled up McQueen to Skill 3. I was left with around a 400,000 coin buffer. And I went back to accumulating coins.

When Aladdin and Jasmine came out, I had 1.26 million coins and I used every last coin there in order to get my Jasmine to Skill 3. I also managed to skill up Aladdin to Skill 3.

Along the way for both Mater and Jasmine, I managed to get all the previous tsums that my friends were trying so hard to get. I got Angel, Hawaiian Stitch, Rex and Randall. In a way, it's like I attained savings not getting them during their respective lucky times and getting them later during a lucky time where I do want to purchase tsums in.

Anyhow, with my suspicion that Genie is coming out this coming weekend, I really want to increase my buffer but I had to start from scratch. So without my 1 million coin buffer, I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to get him or to skill him up. My only rationale for getting Genie is because of Robin Williams and his work in making the Genie be who he is today (may he rest in peace).  So, let's see if I'll be right on this hunch...I may be completely off my game and maybe I will have extra time to accumulate coins for Genie when he comes out later...we'll see. =)

(Also, this means I'm not trying for the Holiday tsums because of my very high desire to get Genie tsum. Anyhow, I figure I will get Holiday Donald and Daisy if I finish the cards and when I try for Genie, chances are that I will get the Holiday tsums during that spending spree too.)

Ciao!

Genie may be coming out

So I was really shocked on Friday when Aladdin and Jasmine came out in the American Tsum Tsum version. In fact, I thought Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas would come out first or even Romance Ariel and Triton, so when Aladdin and Jasmine came out first, I was quite surprised.

What ended up happening is that I used up all my coins to get Jasmine and to skill her up. I'm thankful I was able to get a buffer large enough to be able to get both Aladdin and Jasmine though it's a pain to build up that buffer again.

From what I can see through YouTube videos of those who got Aladdin and Jasmine then Genie, is that Genie came out a week after Aladdin and Jasmine did.

Currently in the American Tsum Tsum is the Lucky time for the holiday tsums, with music now! Though they'll be available until the end of the month. Their lucky time ends on Thursday night though. So I suspect that Genie will be coming out on Friday but I'm not sure. It's just a hunch based on what has happened for the Japanese Tsum Tsum game.

If not, then great! I can use that time to keep building up my buffer. Why? See in my next post. =)

Hint for getting the Christmas Ornament

You need to hit the Christmas ornament 3x before it disappears and before you can claim the prize inside. To do this, I've resorted to using Sorcerer Mickey!

Sorcerer Mickey is extremely useful in this case because you can control where the taps hit and you can guarantee in most cases (unless you're super slow or there are very few Sorcerer Mickey's to clear) that you can activate its skill within the 60 seconds. The second benefit of using Sorcerer Mickey is that the Christmas Ornament can fall anytime during these 60 seconds in which case you can hit it at any point of time, whether the ornament falls late or early.

The reason why I don't use other tsums is because of my lack of confidence in hitting the ornament 3x before my time runs out. I had instances during the Halloween event where we had to hit the pumpkin 3x that I would not be able to clear or use my tsum in an effective way to create bubbles right by the pumpkin to clear it 3x. In the end, Sorcerer Mickey would give me enough confidence to hit the pumpkin (and in this case, ornament) 3x within the 60 seconds allotted.

Many of the times I miss is because I had trouble hitting it the 3rd time before time ran out on me. So since these hearts are few and not as frequent in which case time is on the line here, I use Sorcerer Mickey so that I can take back my time and be sure to claim whatever prize is inside. Sorcerer Mickey may not give me many coins (~200 to 350 on average), I feel it's a bit more relaxing to use him so that I can claim the prize inside. Besides, the prize inside is sometimes coins too!

Good luck! =)

Christmas Event

As some of you may know, the US version of Tsum Tsum just came out with a Christmas event! There are 3 cards it looks like, so this is the first of three cards this month.

For the cards, there will be random Christmas hearts in your meter which look like a strawberry in this case to me. (I may be wrong since it is 4:32am and I'm still wide awake...wide awake because I'm so super psyched about the new items and events that Tsum Tsum are putting on these last few months particularly.)

During these the Christmas hearts, you will get a Christmas ornament (a red sparkly round ball) that falls from the top of the screen to the pile of tsums you are usually clearing. You need to hit this ball 3x before it disappears and before you can claim the prize inside. It can be tickets for any of the bonuses e.g. Time ticket which adds 5 seconds to your original 60 seconds you get, or coins tickets!

There looks to be 10 ornaments you need to collect before you complete the card. There will be 2 more cards after the first that will come out on Dec 17th and 24th. Once you complete the card, you can get three different prizes, of which it is said that Holiday Donald and Holiday Daisy may be one of them. I will need to complete it before I can say what are the prizes.

Good luck!

More basics

Lives are in the form of hearts in this game.

Each heart allows you to play the game for a minute each.  It also takes 15 minutes before it regenerates.

Once all 5 hearts in the meter is gone, you need to wait for another 1 hour and about 15 minutes before the meter is recharged full of hearts for you to play. If you become really good, each heart will last you about 2 minutes each. Having said this, there are some amazing players out there that can play for a few minutes per heart, which means they can regenerate an extra heart (6th one) by the time they finish their 5th heart in the meter.

One of the most amazing players I've found on YouTube is Seiji:

https://www.youtube.com/user/kp4940

He is able to skill up his tsums so much that they take out a lot more tsums. Browse through his Youtube videos and you can probably see why it's so wonderful to be able to skill up your tsums if possible. Of course since the boxes are random, it's not like you have much of a choice in whether you can skill up your tsums. It wasn't until I got past 40 premium tsums that I could get duplicates and therefore skill up my tsums slowly one by one. I'll tell you a trick to skilling up your tsums faster than this in a later post.

So skilling up is another thing I forgot to mention. Skilling up only happens if you buy a premium or happiness box and the same tsum comes out of it. For example, if you have Aladdin already, then if you select a premium box after getting 30,000 coins and you get Aladdin again, you skill him up! What does this mean? It means he takes out more tsums. How do I know that? At Skill 1, Aladdin only changes a small portion of tsums to Prince Ali, maybe just 1 line. In the profile of the tsum, you can see he starts with SS (super small). Once he skills up to Skill 2, he takes out S (aka small).

Different tsums skill up a bit differently and require different number of tsums before it goes up in skill.

For example, to skill up Mickey from Skill 1 to Skill 2, you need to open two more happiness boxes with Mickey inside. However, for Jasmine, to skill her up from Skill 1 to Skill 2, you only need to open one premium box with her inside. Again different tsums require different number of opened boxes before they skill up.

There are 2 great references I use to see the number of the same tsum I need to skill up to the next level, as well as some information about the tsum itself:

http://disneytsumtsum.wikia.com/wiki/Tsum_Tsum (it can show you how many duplications needed)

http://tsumtsum.gameloadstar.com/category/tsum/jp-tsum/ (great for see basic stats only, does not include duplication info)

Then I go onto Seiji's YouTube videos to see whether he uploaded a video of him playing with the higher skill and see whether it'd be a tsum I'd be interested in getting at the moment lucky time arrives.

I look into the Japanese tsums to see what tsums may come out next, as the Japanese version comes out with everything first and the American version gets it last.

It is important to note that different tsums require different number of duplications in boxes before they skill up, and to skill up to a higher skill requires different number of duplications than the previous one. For example, to skill up Jasmine to Skill 2 from 1, I only needed to have 1 duplicated premium box (aka open another premium box with Jasmine inside). To skill Jasmine to Skill 3, I need 2 duplications.  To go up to Skill 4, I will need 4 duplications.  (http://disneytsumtsum.wikia.com/wiki/Jasmine)

I wanted to share with you a bingo site that I used to use...though it looks like the person who used to own it let the domain to expire? I used to use http://www.ultimatetsumtsum.com/ as my guide to the bingo cards but unfortunately it's no longer in order.

No matter, the other sites I just listed above would suffice in letting you understand how to complete each of the bingos. I just liked the http://www.ultimatetsumtsum.com/ site because it had some funny commentary. Too bad you won't be able to read his funny remarks... =(

I understand that there are lots of sites out there that discusses about the bingos and tsums so feel free to read them. I am just here to give hints on items that stumped me and took me some time to figure out or that I was able to research and find a way to complete, particularly the bingo cards and some of the missions on it. =)

Happy Tsuming!

Tsum Tsum basics

Tsum Tsum is a game that is made in Japan and that is linked via Line which is a popular messaging app in Japan I believe.

A tsum is a game character in the game. MyTsum is the character that you choose to be. If you choose to be Mickey, then that's your game character ability/skill you wish to use.

During the game, a bunch of different random tsums fall down. Five different types are existent during that 1 minute that you're playing. The point of the game is to achieve the highest score you can with the tsum you're currently using by using the skill it has. Different tsums have different abilities, and depending what strategy you like to employ, different tsums may be your preference.

How do you get this high score and coins? You need to clear the tsums on your screen. How? You need to link a minimum of 3 of the same tsums to clear it e.g. clear three Mickeys by linking 3 Mickeys that are next to each other. You should then see it disappear and your score increase.

As you level your tsums up, the higher the scores become based on the number underneath the tsum when you go to the page where you can select which tsum will be your MyTsum.

When you clear a chain of 7 tsums, you get a bubble, which can help extend time by 2 seconds, or increase your score, or increase your experience.

Experience is what helps you level up to the next level. As you increase your level, the higher your score bonus will be.

More to come on how to use certain tsums and other tidbits. Ciao!

(By the way, this will probably only help the American version of tsum tsum since I am situated in Canada haha. Looking forward to the Japanese version and what comes out for them is a good indicator of what may happen soon for the American version, though sometimes it may take anywhere between 3 months to a year before the same event/item comes to the American version.)

Intro - How I got interested in Tsum Tsum...

I started playing Tsum Tsum maybe just a bit over a year ago. It was after I was laid off from my old company. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend were very into the game so I thought I'd give it a try, seeing as I was just applying for jobs and there were little else to do besides look for jobs to apply to. My boyfriend (now fiance) were also having these 1.5 hour lessons in badminton where I didn't have much else to do besides nap at as well, so I thought it'd be fun to just blow the time away through this game.

At the beginning, I have to admit, I did not know how to play the game. I kept playing with Happiness tsums and then accumulating the 10,000 coins to get another Happiness tsum. I didn't want to buy a Premium tsum since it took so long to accumulate the 10,000 coins for the Happiness boxes. I also had the mission to get Goofy tsum since he is my favorite Happiness tsum. Once I got him, I kept using him for the longest time. Then Baymax came out and I had to get him! I got him with one try actually during the Lucky Time. I was so lucky and was so happy to try and learn how to use his skill.

Oh, another reason why I say I didn't know how to play the game was because I was confused with the skill ability. I didn't realize that I can hit the button on the bottom left hand corner one it was complete to use the skill of MyTsum. For the longest time when I was using Mickey at the beginning, I would let it go full and let it go into the bonus roulette. I guess I didn't play enough for me to be addicted to it yet so I was really unclear about the rules of how to play it.

Needless to say, it took a long time before I finally got to 1 million points...

I was about to stop playing until Bumblebee Pooh came out and then suddenly I really wanted him. So I kept playing during that Lucky Time weekend and my last premium box I was able to get that weekend (it took me so long to accumulate 30,000 coins at the time), I finally got Bumblebee Pooh! I was so happy. After playing for a while, I got bored again. Then my fiance got into the game and we played a whole night and then it jumpstarted on my passion a bit for the game and since then, it hasn't wavered because finally after maybe half a year at that point, I finally understood how to play the game and the strategies that is being asked for.

Over the next little bit, I will try to throw tidbits here and there that I learned from videos and from other blogs about Tsum Tsum to see if I can help you through some of the missions or obstacles that I had that maybe you had too. Feel free to let me know some of the questions you have as well and I can try my best to answer them. =)

Cheers!
