I just completed the regular 5 Under the Sea cards and have received the Silver Little Mermaid pin for completing the event. However, you and I know the prize really is the Gold Little Mermaid pin! So how do you navigate through some of the difficult missions on this card?
I put together a few tidbits on how I managed to complete it. Note: I have a Skill 3 King Triton and Skill 3 Romance Ariel for these missions.
Tidbit: It was stated that there will be a second lucky time for Romance Ariel and King Triton on August 12th to 15th! (UPDATE: AUG 11 - CONFIRMED) Use it to your advantage!! Save up coins now so you can get one or both of these tsums if you don't have them yet! It's a great time to skill up your Romance Ariel and King Triton for those who do have these two essential tsums for this event.
Mission 1: Call a sweetheart and clear 250 MyTsum in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use Romance Ariel, and if you're like me where I can't seem to get a hang of using her skill, use the Time, Bubble and 5>4 Bonuses so that you can use her skill as many times as you can as well as go into Fever time faster so you can extend the length of your game. Just for a kick, throw in the Coin bonus so you can at least try to gain back some of the coins you threw into the game.
Romance Ariel will help tremendously especially with her character bonus. Again, if you don't have her yet, wait for the lucky time on
Aug 12th to 15th to get her!
Tidbit: If you really can't wait until the lucky time to try and score on this first mission on the difficult bonus card, on Reddit, one of the fans mentioned they used Angel for this mission and was able to clear the mission this way since they didn't have Romance Ariel. Another Redditor said they were able to clear at least 200 with Angel at Skill 3. So give it a try and if it does work, please let me know!
UPDATE: AUG 13 - Actually, for this mission, you can also call Thumper, Minnie, and Jasmine to name a few other tsums that will help you clear this mission. If you're stump on which other tsums to use, Tsum Tsum Central has a great resource that states the
other options you can try as well.
Mission 2: Use the skill of a pink-nosed Tsum Tsum 9 times in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use King Triton. Try using him with Bubble, Time, and 5>4 bonuses. If you have a high enough skill King Triton (above 3), then you may not need all these bonuses.
Mission 3: Use a Tsum with the initial T to create a 110 combo.
Tidbit: Use King Triton here with Time, Bubble and 5>4 bonuses. I tried using Thumper with the bonuses but the closest I got was a 101 combo and it was devastating when my finger slipped and I just lost it completely. The best part with King Triton, even if you don't make it but if you get a high enough combo (maybe around 85 to 90 combo will be enough), it won't be completely devastating as you can see what the character bonus gives you and you might just meet the mission if it's enough.
UPDATE - AUG 11: To keep a combo going, make sure you don't pause for too long between each chain, so keep scanning the screen for the next chain to make while you're connecting your current set of tsums, and try to get into fever time as quickly as you can! There's a
special trick that I just learned through reading other people's experiences on Reddit, that the pauses during Fever Time will not break the chain!! Thus to keep the combo going then is to get back into Fever Time ASAP!! Many users have mentioned to save your bubbles and burst ability for when Fever Time ends to try and jump back into it immediately. Popping bubbles keeps your combo going too in case you were not aware of that yet. Note, an effective way to get back into Fever Time with bubbles is to make sure to pop them before they reach the bottom of the screen as they can eliminate more tsums that way. Good luck!
(
AUG 13 - I helped my friend with this mission and getting myself into fever time immediately with magical bubbles helped me get a high combo with ease! I used to be so uptight with these missions and get so flustered whenever I slipped and had to start over, but using the fever time to get the combo dramatically helped me ease up and attain the mission without trouble anymore.)
Mission 4: Use a female Tsum Tsum to earn 4,000,000 points in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use Romance Ariel if you don't have a female tsum with a high enough skill level to meet this goal. Fortunately, I had skilled up my Jasmine to skill 5 during the most recent lucky time so this mission was completed without too much difficulty.
UPDATE - AUG 11: I didn't realize that some people didn't know that you can use rubies at the end of each game that you choose, especially if you're super close to the goal. How?? Once you run out of time, you will notice a Plus sign (+) sitting on top of the clock - HIT the plus sign immediately and it will ask you if you want to use 5 rubies to extend your time by an extra 10 seconds, at which point you can say yes or no.
Mission 5: Use a Tsum Tsum with a bow to earn 1,800 coins in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use Romance Ariel. You can also use any other tsums with a bow (e.g. Snow White, Birthday Anna to name a few) and use the coin bonus and maybe that will help you boost your coins enough to meet the mission. Just throwing in some alternatives in case you don't have Romance Ariel in your repertoire. For me, I wasn't good at using Romance Ariel, so I added in the Coin and 5>4 bonuses so I can use her skill more frequently. I ended up doing pretty decently, maybe around 900 before bonuses, then after the coin bonus kicked in, I got 1441 coins. Romance Ariel's character bonus helped kicked it up by another 720, so that I was able to surpass the 1,800 coins goal.
Mission 6: Use a red Tsum Tsum to enter fever 7 times in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use Romance Ariel. For this one I didn't need to use a bonus. The character bonus put me exactly to 7, luckily.
Mission 7: Use a Tsum with the initial "A" to clear 1,000 Tsum in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use Romance Ariel! Yes, it counts as a Tsum with the initial "A"! I just found that out too. Anyways, I tried and tried with Romance Ariel, but remember I had mentioned I'm not very good with her? I was only getting to around 590 max, and after the character bonus boost, I would only be able to get around 760 at most. So I switched to my Skill 4 Birthday Anna (and yes she counts too as an "A" tsum!) and had to package her with time, bubble, and 5>4 bonuses. With either Romance Ariel or Birthday Anna, try to get into fever time as quickly as you can so you can keep the game going for longer! In the end, even after using the time bonus and going into fever times more frequently, I only managed to clear 900 tsums. I took the offer and increased my time by 10 seconds by using 5 rubies (sigh...). I immediately went back into fever time thereafter, thus extending my time by an additional 5 seconds and then finally, after trying for many, many, many games, I was able to clear 1,090 tsums in one game! Finally!
Mission 8: Use a bearded Tsum Tsum to earn 600 EXP in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use King Triton with the EXP bonus turned on. In this instance, I actually turned on all the bonuses. I figured I usually get around 450 EXP with Jasmine which is my strongest tsum I use for getting a higher ranking, so I needed more time to get a higher score with Triton as I wasn't great with using him either. Luckily, I was able to attain it after getting all the bonuses in play, plus a bit more after the character bonus. I guess I didn't need too high of an end EXP on this one. Try without all the bonuses (save you money that way) and if you need it, then you can add them in the second round.
UPDATE - AUG 8: According to
Tsum Tsum Central, Marie apparently counts as a bearded tsum!! Just a tidbit in case you don't have King Triton to help you out on this one. Also, it looks like you need to get at least
5M before you get 600 exp. Below is the screenshot I had made last week when I had reached 5.4M points with Jasmine without bonuses. Looking back at my other screenshots, you do need at least 4M to get 550 exp and since the EXP bonus gives you +10% boost, it still won't allow you to meet the mission's goal of 600 exp unless you get lots of
exp bubbles. Try for over 5M with Marie or Beast in this case if you don't have Triton.
Mission 9: Use a princess Tsum to pop 25 Magical Bubbles in 1 play.
Tidbit: For this one, I would say use the princess that you're the most comfortable playing with, whether it is Romance Ariel or another one, use the one you would enjoy playing with. I decided to use Jasmine and since I was trying to satisfy the 25 bubbles with bonuses, I decided to go all in and try to get a higher score. You know, so I can hit two goals with one game.
Mission 10: Use a Little Mermaid series to earn 5.5M points in 1 play.
Tidbit: Use either King Triton or Romance Ariel, whichever one you're better at playing with. Add the score, time, bubble and 5>4 bonuses and during the game, keep going back into fever time as fast as you can. (Use the Coin bonus too so that you can try and make some coins back on the side to offset your spending.)
I attained this goal with King Triton, and boy was I super happy!!! The mission seemed super difficult to attain using the Little Mermaid series...until you see the enormous bonus they give to you to help you get your Golden Little Mermaid Pin!!! In fact, I think my bonus was 50% of what I was able to attain in the game with the bonuses turned on. I remembered seeing 4.4M flash on my screen to show me what I gotten after using all the bonuses (and boy was I disappointed when I saw 4.4M) before my screen switched straight into the Under the Sea DIFFICULT Missions Extra card, and saw the tremendous bonus they gave me: 2.2M!!!
I was super super happy at this point!! Absolutely Elated and Ecstatic!! I'm still flying in the air with how happy I am to have gotten this pin. =)
So believe me when I say "You can do this!! You ALSO can get the Golden Little Mermaid Pin!!! Don't give up! Just keep trying! I know you can get it as well!!"
UPDATE: AUG 13 - After helping my friend with this mission, I'm pretty confident that Romance Ariel and King Triton's character bonuses gives roughly 50% of what you attain after your game bonus kicks in. Knowing this, 5.5M / 1.5 = 3.7M is the score that is required from your own regular game including your level's game bonus to be able to clear this mission.
(It's also interesting to note that the silver pin just doesn't show up in my Pin Collection, just the gold one. I thought it was intriguing, especially since I was trying to find the silver pin when I got to this screen.)
Good luck everyone!! If you need more hints on what alternative tsums you can use for each mission during this event, Tsum Tsum Central has a great summary
here.
Happy Tsuming!!!
